This DIY Mani Will Steal Your Heart
Treating yourself to a manicure is a total act of self-love! Valentine’s Day is around the corner, so the hunt for inspiration starts now. Trends come and go, but a classic red is always a good choice to get you through winter.
Luckily, Hello Birdie nail artist Carla Buendia created a tutorial for an edgy manicure perfect for Valentine’s Day. Before you get started, here are the products to have ready:
- Base coat
- Classic red polish (for a sweeter look, try magenta or soft pink)
- Sheer nude polish
- Pure black polish
- Art brush
- Clean-up brush
- Matte top coat
- Cuticle oil
Make sure to dedicate a workspace for your painting away from children or pets. Clean your nail brushes in between colors with nail polish remover, and have a paper towel ready to wipe them off. Shaky hands? Rest your elbows or forearms on your workspace to keep steady.
And another thing: put on your favorite music or movie, light a candle (not near your polish!), and enjoy the process.
