If you want 3 or more nails of nail art, after selecting the Nail Art (2 Nails) service, select staff, and then you’ll have the option to “add another service”. Click “Yes” and then select the service type with Nail Art and then select the service “Additional Time for Nail Art (3+ Nails)". This service adds 15 minutes allowing for more nails. If the Nail Art is complex, we may require more Additional Time for Nail Art blocks. You can always email us a picture of your desired nail art before your service to see if your nail artist would require more Additional Time blocks! info@hellobirdie.com

Any service that includes anything more than one full painted color polish from our collection of colors per nail is considered nail art. Negative space designs like stylized French tips (triangular, micro-french, French tip with a different color per nail, double French, reverse French, etc), moon manicures, French ombre are considered nail art. The use of loose glitter, transfer foils, charms, magnetic gel polish (cat eye, velvet, etc) and mixing colors are considered nail art alongside hand-painted designs.

Although we offer regular polish nail art, only simpler designs are offered based on the product's limitations. Due to the slow drying nature of regular polish and the inability to make corrections, we recommend gel polish with nail art.

Check out our Instagram, if a specific nail art appeals to you, we always tag the nail artist. Then you can visit their page and request that artist for your service when booking online or over the phone.

Also, save some nail art pics on your phone to show your artist at the appointment. Every artist has a different skill level and more options is great to have! Some nail art is deceptively time consuming or difficult so it is awesome to have more options!

If you have something specific in mind that may be more intricate (for example: character art, writing, portraiture, use of many colors, shaded/realistic pictures, checkers, etc) please reach out to us by phone or email info@hellobirdielab.com to send us a picture so we can talk with your nail artist to see what they can do or if more Additional Nail Art Time blocks are needed. You also have the option of uploading your nail art photos when booking an appointment through our online booking system.

We have a 24-hour Cancellation Policy.  If you cancel or reschedule within 24-hours of your appointment a 50% fee will be automatically charged to the card on file.  NO SHOWS or NO CALL by the start of your appointment will be charged 100% of service.

We share a love of cleanliness! We do not perform nail services on those with signs of nail infection and inform each new guest of this prior to their appointment for client safety. We sanitize and disinfect all reusable implements and utilize a medical-grade autoclave for further protection. We use new nail files, buffers and cotton for each client. We disinfect each station in between clients and use pedicure basins that are disinfected after each use.

We do not offer children specific services. All nail services are recommended for 5+ years of age. Gel polish services are offered for clients 14+ years of age. Lash services are for those 18 and up or 16+ with in-person consent of a guardian if under 18 years old.

Please call the salon at (619) 358-9875 or email info@hellobirdielab.com to book group appointments. We would love have you!

We don't host private events, offer group rates, serve beverages or food.

We do nail (manicure and pedicures) and lash extension services. Nail services that are done on the client’s natural nail with regular polish or soft gel polish (acetone soakable gel polish) and do not include the use of an e-file (electric file/nail drill). For Gel Polish Removal, we buff then soak the nails in an acetone wrap.

We offer Apres Gel X nail extensions and Structured Soft Gel Manicures. These services include the use of an e-file.

Please note that we do not provide dip powder, hard gel or acrylic services.

Please visit our menu.

Please note that we have a 7-day guarantee on our Gel Polish Services - if a client experiences something unusual like Gel Polish lifting/chipping and contacts us within 7 days of their appointment we will fix them complimentary. We offer a 5-day guarantee on our Lash Extension Services.

Lash Extensions are a service where a lash artist applies black synthetic lashes to the client’s individual natural lashes on the top lids with lash extension adhesive. The lash artist can create various looks for the client with different lengths, curls, and placement of the lash extensions. Hello Birdie specializes in more natural looks, with an emphasis on lash isolation and and lash health. We do not apply Lash Extensions that we feel are too heavy for a client’s natural lash to hold and encourage proper washing and care for client health.

Classic Lash Extensions have a 1:1 ratio of lash extension to each individual natural lash. Classic Lash Extensions provide length and curl.

Premium Flat Lash Extensions also have a 1:1 ratio of lash extension to each natural lash but the lash extension has a wider and flat base, making the lash extensions more visible. Premium Flat Lash Extensions provide length and curl.

Volume Lash extensions have a 2-6:1 ratio of light-weight lash extensions to each natural lash. The lash artist creates a fan of these light-weight lash extensions and applies them to each natural lash creating a fuller look (lash fans are hand-made and we do not apply cluster lashes). Volume Lash Extensions provide length, curl, and density.

Hybrid Lash Extensions. A combination of both classic and volume techniques.

After having your first full set of Lash Extensions, each day you will have natural lash shedding following your natural lash growth cycle and if you want to continue to have full lash extensions, you would come in for a Lash Fill. Lash fills are shorter in service time and the lash artist will remove any grown out lashes and apply new lash extensions, refreshing your look. If excessively grown out lashes are not replaced with lash extensions closer to the base of your lash, the natural lash may twist and lead to discomfort.

Lash Fill services are booked 2-3 weeks from your last service. Extended Fill services are needed from 3-4 weeks and provide more time for the artist to complete the fill. Full Sets are required 4 weeks or longer from the last service.

For the safety of our clients, we do not perform Lash Extension services on those with a history of Lash Extension allergies. The main ingredient used in lash adhesive is cyanoacrylate and is used in even sensitive adhesives. We do offer a clear lash adhesive to those sensitive to carbon black; however, cyanoacrylate is the main ingredient in this clear adhesive.

We share a love of cleanliness! All reusable implements are sanitized and disinfected before each service. We use a medical-grade autoclave for tweezers. All other tools are one-time use and thrown away at the end of the service. Our Lash trays are UV light treated for cleanliness after each service. Our lash beds are disinfected in between clients and our towels are commercially laundered and changed after each use. We continually run a HEPA-filtered air purifier.

Yes! We do require Extended Lash Fill timing for those coming in with lashes on from another salon. This allows for more time for the lash artist to make any minor adjustments during the service. Please note that if the work currently on your lashes is much different from our own we may need to do a full Lash Extension Removal ($34) in order to proceed. A Lash Extension Full Set would then need to be booked for another time if the artist does not have adequate time for a full set at the point of the Lash Extension Removal. Examples of Lash Extensions that would need to be removed first are cluster lashes, or lash work that does not allow for the artist to perform proper lash isolation, etc.

On the day of your service, please bring in pictures of lash styles you can show your lash artist so they can get a feel of what you like. Everyone has different views of what looks dramatic or natural and pictures are a great way to communicate with your artist as they learn what your individual needs are.

Please come in with washed lashes and no eye makeup. While we do cleanse the lashes before the service, makeup residue can be difficult to remove and cleansing will take away from the time your artist has reserved for your service.

Please try to avoid having caffeine immediately prior to your service as caffeine can lead to excessive involuntary eye movement during your service, making it difficult to properly place your lash extensions.

If you wear contacts, please bring your contacts lens case or wear glasses for the service.

Please wait 24 hours after your lash extension service before wetting your lashes as the adhesive is still sensitive to water. After 24 hours we encourage gently washing your lashes with lash extension specific cleansers daily and brushing with a lash wand. Avoiding cleansing leads to oil and makeup build-up around your extensions, leading to the break-down of the lash extension adhesive resulting in fall-out. We have lash extension cleanser and cleansing brushes for purchase here and in salon.
